Silence in the Moonlight

In silence he sat with his back pressed against the cold wall. He lifted his eyes, stared into the silver moon, wishing that life was more than it was. Within him, he believed that life was more than what he believed it be but in reality was otherwise. He shut his eyes, trying to push aside the troubles that came roaring like a rushing wind. "Quiet!" His inner voice screamed.

Temporarily, the screams subsided. But it will return, somehow, with the eager desire to consume him and tear him into ashes when subdued.

Life - only if it were better - is not a bed of roses.
