Rain Rain Go Away

The sky was rather outcast, and Jonathan was in the car, happily whistling. The day had been fairly enjoyable for him (apart from the sleepiness), and all he wanted was to reach home, lie on his bed and doze to dreamland.

Home was near. It was very near. He could see it, he could feel it. With joy (and just like Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins or Sound of Music), he burst into The Voice Within. Of course, in a very distorted tone, since he's not Christina Aguilera.

Jon [sings]: Young girl, don't cry... Ooooh... I'll be right there....

A drop of water on the wind screen.

Jon [snaps]: WHAT?! Don't rain!

And to Jonathan's horror, another drop of water on the wind screen.

Jon [chants]: Rain, rain, go away, come again another day.

More rain drops. Heavier ones now. Drop drop drop drop drop.

Jon [chants like crazy]: rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day rain rain go away come again another day

BRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!! (thunder) and a heavy rain.

Jon [mumbles]: Oh gosh! Shouldn't have sung. *sigh*

Lesson Learnt: Do not sing when you're (1) not in the shape to sing, (2) can't sing a powerful song, (3) when the weather is having PMS. Also, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT provoke the weather. I might have been hit by lightning (choi!) if I continued chanting.

*fingers touch forehead, shoulders and chest like Roman Catholics* Oh forgive my transgressions as I've forgiven my transgressors. Amen.
