Sounds and Dances

all out of the ordinary.

First and foremost, this post is for Kee Aun, my dear fellow musician, (occasional) partner-in-crime, fellow high-Inspirational personality ... whatever you call it. Dude, we have so much in common! *high 5*

All these are considerable for Fragments 2009.

There are times when a choir can be the (extra) percussion to aid the orchestra. This is an example of how magnificent the sounds the human mouth can produce to give a certain feel. Of course, if we are to attempt this for Fragments, a lot of practice, patience and passion is needed. Check it out:

Thanks Shing for the clip!

This will certainly be an eye-opener for you and everyone else. Check out how they use vegetables to replace the percussions in an orchestra. Although there is no melody, there is a rhythmic theme within that (whatever you call it) song piece of art. Check it out and see what they are doing.

Tap dance is often viewed as something boring and rigid, for all the dancers do is just tap, smile, stand straight and bla bla bla. The list goes on.

But halt. It can symbolize many other emotions, only if you know how to manipulate it. You can use it to intensify moods of anger and aggression. Think rhythm in terms of pace and how each quickening pace intensifies the mood; how each pause causes all emotions to 'disintegrate' and fall apart, leaving the audience with goosebumps; how each hard accented tap can mean accomplishing something, or breaking something...

Tap dance can also be infused with music, which can, in turn, intensify more emotions. Yet again, if we are capable of manipulating them...

Check this up:

And how to do tap dancing? Here...

It's kinda simple, IMHO. All you need is the shoes (which are expensive), but the steps are modifiable.

That's all for now.

Me too! I thought tap dancing was like uber complicated! But then, it turned out to be rather simple!

I was also very surprised that vegetables can be used for other purposes! haha. :D
